VermontBusiness.com Supports Vermont's Single Payer Health Care Option

Below is a press release from Doug Racine's office concerning the recent passing of the Healthy Vermont bill in the Senate. It now goes back to the House before being placed on the Governor's desk.

Ben & Jerry's Fair Trade Commitment

Ben & Jerry's announced it's embracing Fair Trade through it's entire line of ice creams. The company will utilize only Fair Trade Certified ingredients for all flavors.

This is a commitment to the many people behind the product, not just those locally in Vermont. Co-founder Jerry Greenfield states, "Fair Trade is about making sure people get their fair share of the pie. The whole concept of Fair Trade goes to the heart of our values and sense of right and wrong. Nobody wants to buy something that was made by exploiting somebody else."

Vermont Ranked #6 for Well Being

Gallup and Healthways have been polling 1,000 people a day for 25 months to determine the best (and worst) cities and states to live in for well-being.

Experts in disciplines from economics to psychology created a 42 question survey to determine how people were fairing professionally, emotionally, socially and physically. They provide this information (the largest such database in the world at over 725,000) to agencies to help improve the well-being of people and push policies where they are needed most.

Announcing the Video Project

In a continued effort to make VermontBusiness.com the place for area businesses to promote themselves online, we are announcing our Video Project.

Participating is easy and free.

Any business wishing to participate only needs to create a video (shoot for between 2 and 20 minutes) about who they are and what they do. Introduce yourselves to the viewer. Give us a view of your operations we may not normally see. Act yourself, let your, and your business', personality show.
